Google Ads will no longer accept debit or credit card payments for some advertisers. Instead, you’ll have to switch to alternative payment methods like monthly invoicing or direct debit. This means no more simply charging your ads to your credit card—it’s time to adjust your payment setup.

Who Is Affected?

Not every advertiser will need to make this switch immediately, but if you’re one of the impacted accounts, you’ll receive a notification soon. If you spend over $5,000 per month on Google Ads, this change is likely to apply to you sooner. Even though Google hasn’t set a minimum spend threshold for this change, larger accounts are the primary targets.

If your account is affected, you must switch your payment method and failure to do so could lead to your ads being paused, which nobody wants. This is especially important for businesses that rely heavily on consistent ad performance.
